This car you will either hate or love. It has all the things people complain about! First, it's red! Next, it's an Eleanor! It's also a coupe and it has Torq Thrust II wheels!
I have nick named it the Super Coupe.
I have had this 67 coupe since 1990. It has been saved from the grave. It was very very rusty. I've swapped in a 1970 429 big block, Granda Spindles, Versailes 9" rear axle and many many more mods. It's flame red with red interior.
I have done the 1" Shelby drop on the upper control arms, 1" antisway bar. Grab-a-track suspension and gas shocks. I have 5 leaf standard eye rear leaf springs with poly bushings. I have also added weld-in subframe connectors and torque boxes to both sides.
The gauges are a mix of the original with a 67 Cougar tach added and a 68 oil pressure gauge where the clock used to be. I changed the faces to white and the bulb covers to red/orange. It a radio delete bezel and hump hugger console.
The 429 is a 1970 DOVE with a 429 SCJ type cam grind, Holley 770 Street Avenger, Edelbrock intake and MSD ignition. It's a mild big block but gobs of torque!
I t has a C6, but I plan to upgrade to a 5 speed.
The 9" rear is currently 28 splines but I have a traction-lok diff with 31 splines ready to go in. Ratio is 4.11:1 so with gas around $4 I'm holding off on that swap as this car is a driver!
