I bought my '66 convertible in February of 2003. I wouldn't call it a basket case but it certainly needed help. The original emberglow metallic was repainted candy apple red. Lot's of orange peel, scratches and dings. Bad door panels and trim. After six years of doing a little at a time and learning as I went (and help from knowlegeable friends) I've got it to very clean driver stage. I replaced the wiring and had it painted the original Emberglow Metallic. I'm working on the inline six to pick up some horsepower. I replaced the carb with the Autolite 1100 Vaporizer from Pony Carbs. Made a huge difference in idle roughness and completely eliminated flat spots on acceleration.

update: Idiot ran a stop sign. Never saw me. Thank God for insurance. I use J.C. Taylor and they were excellent! I'll report back after repairs.

More updates: Car's fixed. Got the header in this weekend. It was a pretty clean installation but I did have to do major modification to the accelerator linkage.

One more update: Added the DUI distributor. Fairly simple installation using instructions from Classic Inlines..
