Being a Mustang fan, I worked so hard to buy my 1st Mustang at 23 years of age, it was a black 2001 V6, I cut the Y-Pipe so it could have a true dual exhaust (divorced), added an AmericanMuscle intake... I wanted a V8... had several offers, well, 2, as a matter of fact (years 99-2001). Whenever I was about to trade/buy the sellers would just turn me down. So I sold it last year and bought this '07 GT/CS off an auction on October, I didn't realize the engine was broken until I saw it up close (2 months later, when it arrived to the dock).
Customs + Tax charged the hell out of me because it was a "sports car", and since I did not bribe anyone; I had to take the "long road"... 3 months later, on January; I finally took it out and got it into the shop.
So, The process started. 6 months of hard work, getting the pieces, new Engine, from USA, using ebay, craigslist, etc.. 2 extra months of tuning/body work/driveshaft issues... until finally... it was ready. As of September 2011, it now prowls the Honduran streets with a FRPP Intake, Custom Catless O/R-H Pipe, Flowmaster Original 40's, Oh, and its a 5-speed!
It sounds like Zeus vs. Thor. It's also the only GT/CS in Honduras, There are more GT and Shelby models, but this is the only California Special

Thank God for making this dream possible at my 26 years of age.
It's still missing pieces, like a rear turn signal that goes in the bumper, i need new exhaust tips since the guys in the dock unloaded it with NO care at all and flattened the tips. I need to fix the rear bumper's skirt so it looks straight, and I need a front GT/CS bumper, since i'm using a V6 bumper (all I could find here)...
So, Happy New Year, everyone! If you got a dream, pursue it. If it costs a lot of money? get a loan. It's gonna take years to pay it off. But the mere pleasure of having your dream with you, eases the "pain". Saludos!
